Start a New SkillsUSA Chapter

Any South Dakota middle school, high school, or post-secondary institution with a career and technical education program can launch a SkillsUSA chapter. To start a new chapter you simply need to get permission from your administration, present the opportunity to students, and then enroll your members. Your official charter will be presented at a later date by your state association, usually at a state conference.

  1. 1Get approval from your school administration.
  2. 2Present SkillsUSA to your CTE students.
  3. 3Enroll your members through the national registration system.
  4. 4Run your Program of Work and enter regional, state, or national competitions.
  5. 5Receive your official charter at the state conference.
